Meredith’s family has been in the Broadway business since the days of George M. Cohan, where her great grandmother, Desirée Lazard, was a New York stage actress who appeared in several early-Broadway productions in the first decade of the 20th century, including George M. Cohan’s Forty-Five Minutes from Broadway and Polly of the Circus. That legacy was carried out by Meredith’s late uncle, Rick Steiner, as he led Tony Award-winning productions including The Producers, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, The Secret Garden, and Big River along with a merchandising business for Broadway musicals.
Most recently the family, under the Rick Steiner Production name, have taken on production for the revival of Damn Yankees and the stage adaptation of Bull Durham.
Additionally, Meredith is a founding member of the Bay Street Theater Jr Board and is supporting UnRavelled, an award-winning play based on the extraordinary lives of Anne Adams and Maurice Ravel. Both affected by Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), Anne’s and Maurice’s stories show the surprising connection between neurological disease and creative brilliance.
